My Three Sons

Well, it has taken me a while but I have realized the Lord has chosen to bless me with three sons. This is my lot. I am not going to be the mother of the bride. This is me embracing it and writing down memories.

Meet my first son. He says "I am cool and I can beat up my daddy". He also thinks he is spiderman, see above.

Last night at dinner he put a cherry Tomatoe in his mouth, looked at me and grinned, then proceed to chomp down on the Tomatoe and squirted my face with red juice and seeds. All 4 boys erupted. How did Benny know to laugh? I have no idea

He learned how to ride his bike this summer without training wheels. He is constantly reaffirming in our minds that this kid is very smart and very coordinated. He is not allowed to hit real golf balls in the backyard bc they always go over the fence. He is only 4. He loves people and although he can and does play by himself, it is never a preference. He can beat me in Jenga. No lie, no cheating, I lose.

He starts preschool next week. He is a very good swimmer (not in the deep end) but in the shallows he is quite brave. He loves going underwater. This is a live snake, a real live snake.
He also loves to take pictures of himself..... No idea where he got that from.

Yesterday in the car he says "mom, I want to listen to 'the ladies are insane' song". I was puzzled for a while thinking, what in the world am I exposing him to???? Then I remembered,
"well I've never been to Spain..... But I kinda like the music....... They say the ladies are insane there"
Very fitting since he was indeed born in Oklahoma.

Meet son #2. He is impossible to not love, by everyone. I don't have a picture of him swinging on the flag pole bc he swung right into the pole and hit his head. Mind you this is just what happened today, it's not a pastime or legal activity in the household, but it sure made me chuckle.
He says if bad guys come he will dress up as wolverine to fight them and "if my can't find wolverine, my wear iron man".

He is very shy. He loves to sleep and always refers to himself as "my". "my tried to swing like spiderman and my hit my head". "my want oj." "my not do that dad". You just gotta love him. He actually fears spankings and rarely gets them. He also is by far the slowest person on the face of the earth. He just moves so slow. Sometimes we just have to laugh bc he is such a lolly gagger. We have finally convinced him he can get himself dressed. Flip flops are hard for him, they are usually between his third and fourth toes.

He is the partner in crime. Loves to pick the neighbors choke cherries and ride his bike.
Although he was born fearless he has learned that somethings really are scary! He loves to jump and read. He is such a good big brother. He loves to play and entertain Benny. He also knows it is his job to protect him and does a good job of it. He refers to his older brother simply as Bake. His heart belongs to Brian. He is a daddy's boy.

And last but not least #3. Precious, innocent, and delightful. Full of personality and a huge Mama's boy. My only one to refuse a bottle. I am drinking in all of his sweet baby tendencies. I know soon this stage will be gone forever and although it breaks my heart I know all I can do is live it up. He is a great baby, rarely complains.

Loves to bounce and flap those arms. You can see the excitement on his face when his dad or brothers walk in this room. I am so glad he came along!

He crawls, pulls up, and does a bit of cruising. I think he says dada as a word. He knows his name and answers to it with a look.

Life is good here in our household. I know I have moaned about not having a girl but I am going to try to stop moaning and enjoy the ride, and maybe write a book about it someday.

  3. Ha, ha...but I think Brian's cousin Matthew could have challenged Beau for "slowest person on the face of the earth"--always bringing up the rear in any venue :-)
